Upperville Colt & Horse Show

Grafton Farm, Upperville..... Gates open daily at 8am
John S. Mosby Hwy, Upperville
Upperville is the oldest horse show in the United States. Steeped in tradition,
it extends a full seven days, and involves over two thousand horse and rider
combinations from young children on ponies to leading Olympic and World
Cup riders and horses. Held under The Oaks, in Upperville, Virginia, the
showgrounds are located forty miles west of Washington, D.C. in the rolling
hills of Virginia's scenic horse country.
The magnificent and prestigious Grafton and Salem Farms encompass
the show, nestled on both sides of Route 50, between the village of Upperville
and town of Middleburg.
Daily admission: $10 per person; free for children under 12 yrs.

Dairy Festival at Cows-N-Corn

Join the Leonard family at their working dairy farm. This great family event hosts
great food, a variety of homemade ice creams, and loads of fun for the entire family.
See the inner-workings of a dairy farm including their herd of 300 Holstein cows, and
the equipment used to farm their 1,800 acres. Have a cone of cream while the kids
visit the small animals and expend some energy in the "Play Pasture".
Conveniently located off Route 28 - look for the giant 'ear of corn' silo.

Astronomy for Everyone

Sky Meadows State Park..... 8:30pm - 11pm

As the sky darkens, find out about U.S. space research from the NASA Jet
Propulsion Lab’s “Solar System Ambassadors.”  At dark, take a sky tour with
Sean O’Brien of the Smithsonian’s Albert Einstein Planetarium, and look for
deep sky objects through large telescopes with the Northern Virginia Astronomy
Club.  If the sky is cloudy, only the NASA/JPL program will be presented, and the
park gates will close at 10:00 PM.  Bring your children ½ hour early for a special
“Junior Astronomer” activity.

All Ages Welcome! In this whale of a tale movie fast-talking Oscar is a little fish who
ends up at the scene of the crime when the son of a shark mob boss is eliminated.
Oscar takes on all the trappings of fame but when his title is challeneged he finds that
his little white lie has landed him in hot water. He enlists the help of the shark boss's
son Lenny who happens to secretly be a vegetarian and together they try to make sure
that both of their futures aren't all washed up.
Families may swim for the first hour, movie will start promply at dark and the Pool
Concession will be open for refreshment needs. Purchase your family ticket during
open swim at the Larry Weeks Community Pools only.
