Upperville Colt & Horse Show
The Oaks , Upperville..... Gates open 8am daily
Upperville is the oldest horse show in the United States. Steeped in tradition, it extends
a full seven days, and involves over two thousand horse and rider combinations from young
children on ponies to leading Olympic and World Cup riders and horses.
Held under The Oaks, in Upperville, Virginia, the showgrounds are located forty miles west
of Washington, D.C. in the rolling hills of Virginia's scenic horse country. The magnificent and
prestigious Grafton and Salem Farms encompass the show, nestled on both sides of Route 50,
between the village of Upperville and town of Middleburg.
A longtime favorite of horse show competitors, Upperville features full divisions of entries
from all corners of the United States and abroad. The show was voted the Virginia Horse
Shows Association Horse Show of the Year and is a designated World Championship
Hunter Rider Show.

For the first time in its 34-year history, the Virginia Scottish Games and Festival
will be held at Sky Meadows State Park. Sky Meadows' 1,862 acres of rolling pastures
and wooded hillsides preserve a landscape reminiscent of the Old World that so many
of Virginia's first families left behind when they traveled to the colonies. As the park's
signature 400th Anniversary commemorative event, the Games celebrate the rich
Scottish heritage and traditions of many of the original settlers of Northern Virginia.

Festival highlights include: highland athletic and dance competitions, piping competitions
culminating in a massed pipe band performance, Scottish country dancing, clans, living
history encampment, fiddling events, Scottish dog events, children's games, musical
performances, British car show and a variety of food and craft vendors.

First Night Warrenton will host over 50 wonderful performances at more than 10 indoor locations in
Old Town Warrenton, all within walking distance of one another. Come and enjoy jazz, classical music,
puppet shows, bluegrass, folk music, magicians and much more! First Night concludes at midnight with
a traditional Grand Illumination gathering on the Old Courthouse green. Everyone will receive a candle,
pass the flame to their neighbor and sing in the New Year as the old courthouse bell rings the last twelve
chimes to midnight.  First Night Warrenton is a family-oriented, alcohol-free celebration with entertainment
coordinated by the Bluemont Concert Series.  Old Town Warrenton provides an ideal setting with its historic
