Fourth of July Celebration at Great Meadow

Great Meadow, The Plains..... Gates open at 4pm

The bombastic Great Meadow 4th of July celebration featuring the most impressive
firework production in the region includes shells 20% larger than the biggest shells
used at the display on the Mall in Washington, DC.  The fireworks are amazing as
light up the dark sky and the hills of the Virginia Piedmont.  The staff of the Great
Meadow Foundation plan and organize this fun-filled day of events with entertainment
tailored to the families of all ages.  There’s something for everyone with pony rides,
aerial displays, rock walls, petting farms, rural living demonstrations and much,
much more.  The gates open at 4:00 pm when the fun begins. $

Flying Circus Airshows

The Flying Circus Airshow Grounds..... Gates open at 11am; Show starts at 2:30pm

Every Sunday, May thru October, watch daring expert pilots perform stunts in
vintage biplanes.  A parachute jumper opens the show, a wingwalker hangs upside
down from the biplane's wing, biplane and hot-air balloon rides are usually available,

Many fishing enthusiasts know that sometimes the fishing is best early in the morning
or later in the evening. Germantown Lake will be available for boat launching and shore
fishing for early morning fishing beginning at 5:00 a.m. and late-night fishing until
11:00 p.m. Please remember only electric motors are allowed. Concessions and
boat rentals will not be available until regular operating hours; and the rest of the park
is closed until regular opening time and after regular closing time. No registration is
required. This event is free to Fauquier County residents. Admission for non-county
residents is $6 per car, payable at the front gate. The boat launch fee for

Twilight Polo at Great Meadow

Great Meadow, The Plains..... Gates open at 6:30pm; First (of 2) matches begins 7pm

Great Meadow, host to the Virginia Gold Cup steeplechase races, is a world class
international polo field that has been described as one of the best playing surfaces
between New York and Aiken. Great Meadow Polo Club has over 75 playing members,
making it one of the largest in the region.
During the summer more than 20,000 fans - young professionals as well as families --
gather at Great Meadow with tailgates and picnics to watch the Twilight Polo program.
Two matches are held every Saturday night beginning at 7:00 P.M. (gates open at 6:30
P.M) until mid-September. Stay after the polo matches for moonlight music and dancing.
Tickets at the gate: $30 per carload

Band: Bluemont Summer Concert in Warrenton with Orrin Star and John Seebach
On the lawn of the Warren Green Building, located at 10 Hotel Street in Old Town Warrenton.
Orrin Star is an award-winning guitar, banjo and mandolin player who’s also entertaining.
With music ranging from fiddle tunes to bluegrass to western swing, and storytelling both
sharp and droll, he has been described as ‘Arlo Guthrie-meets-Doc Watson’. Joining Orrin
is John Seebach, one of the bright lights of DC's bluegrass millennials. He plays with
area bands Big Chimney and Only Lonesome, and is a stellar singer, rhythm guitarist
and mandolin player.
On Saturday evenings throughout the summer, families, neighbors and visitors
gather for outdoor Bluemont concerts in Old Town Warrenton. Audiences enjoy
world-class jazz, bluegrass, Celtic music, rock, rhythm and blues, zydeco, African
dance, folk music and more.
Many people bring picnics to enjoy during the show. People of all ages are welcome.
All Bluemont concerts are smoke-free and alcohol is prohibited. Pets are not allowed

Enjoy live music from local artists at Crocket Park's beautiful Lakeside Amphitheatre.
Pre-registration not required. The fee is $2 per person, kids 12 & under free.
Non-county vehicles pay $7/vehicle to enter the park.
