The crown jewel of Christmas is the award winning GumDrop Square and Santa’s Secret
Shop where Santa will be on hand for those lists, complimentary photos (one per family)
and where all gifts are $2 and will be gift wrapped. Stroll down Main Street on Friday night
December 12th and 19th enjoying carolers, orchestras, choirs, merchant open houses,
a live nativity, food trolleys with hot cocoa and warm snacks and take a ride with the beautiful
Clydesdales with their horse-drawn hayrides. Come and experience Christmas in true Old
Town fashion. Festivities begin Friday, December 5th at 6pm with the Christmas Parade,
the arrival of Santa, the lighting of the Old Town Christmas tree and the opening of GumDrop

Warrenton Christmas Parade, Lighting of the Christmas Tree,
and Opening of GumDrop Square

Main Street, Old Town Warrenton...... 6pm
The evening will include the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Old Courthouse
and the opening of GumDrop Square immediately following the parade.
Santa Claus will glide down Main Street at the end of the parade on his sleigh drawn by
majestic horses.
Santa Claus will make his way to the Old Courthouse where he, will light the town Christmas
tree. Santa Claus will then head to the crown jewel of Christmas in Warrenton, the award
winning GumDrop Square. Families will visit with Santa and receive one complimentary
photo and the children then have the opportunity to enter Santa’s Secret Shop and purchase
wrapped gifts with the help of Santa’s elves. Each gift in the shop is just two dollars.
After the parade and a visit to GumDrop Square, stroll down Main Street enjoying carolers,
orchestras, choirs, merchant open houses, a live nativity, food trolleys with warm treats
and horse-drawn hayrides. Come and experience Christmas in true Old Town fashion.
With the combining of these events you have the ability to shop Old Town Warrenton
shops on Friday evening with your family or come back the following day for
‘Small Business Saturday’. Beat the crowds and enjoy small town shopping

The Nutcracker ~ Performed by The Lasley Centre for the Performing Arts

Performed by The Lasley Centre for the Performing Arts.
Don't miss this opportunity to experience a magical holiday tradition, close to home! 
This production is designed to appeal to all ages, so The Lasley Centre encourages
parents to introduce their children to the joy of The Nutcracker and the beauty of live ballet.
Children in the audience will be given an activity sheet to help them engage with the story
and the ballet.  Completed activity sheets can be exchanged for a special treat after the
performance has ended.  
In addition, following the performance, audience members will have an opportunity to
meet and talk with cast members.  Dancers and Lasley Centre staff will be available
to answer questions about the production and about all aspects of ballet.
Audience members will also have an opportunity to visit “The Land of Sweets” to purchase
gourmet treats and The Lasley Centre’s "Nutcracker Boutique", where special Nutcracker
souvenir items will be available for purchase.
All proceeds will benefit the non-profit dance company, The Centre Performing
Arts Company, which provides local dancers with scholarships and performance

First Night in Old Town Warrenton

First Night Performances: 7pm - 11:45pm
Grand Illumination at Old Courthouse: 11:45pm - Midnight
Families, friends and neighbors from all over Fauquier County and beyond welcome
in the New Year with a community celebration of the arts for people of all ages.
First Night Warrenton will host over 50 wonderful performances at more than 10 indoor
locations in downtown Warrenton, all within walking distance of one another. Come and
enjoy jazz, classical music, puppet shows, bluegrass, folk music, magicians and much
more! First Night concludes at midnight with a traditional Grand Illumination gathering on
the Old Courthouse green. Everyone will receive a candle, pass the flame to their
neighbor and sing in the New Year as the old courthouse bell rings the last twelve
chimes to midnight.
First Night Warrenton is a family oriented, alcohol-free celebration with entertainment
coordinated by the Bluemont Concert Series. Performances are held in boardrooms,
lobbies, courtrooms, church sanctuaries, parish halls and other locations. Old Town
Warrenton provides an ideal setting with its historic charm, convenient parking and many
fine restaurants.
Admission: New Family Rate of $25 includes parents and children; or $8 per person;
$6 Seniors; $3 Children 3-12; under 3 free
