The purpose of the Fauquier Civil War Roundtable is to provide a framework for
persons to learn and exchange views about our country's history during the period
of the U.S. Civil War. Started in the Fall of 1998, the Roundtable is a membership
group open to all with an interest in this period of our history, regardless where they
live or which side they favor. Speaker to be announced.
Sponsored by the Southern Fauquier Historical Society.

History Series: The Culpeper Battalion & the Men from Fauquier Companies

Speaker, Dr. John Sinks, presents the Culpeper Battalion and the Men from the
Fauquier Companies A history of the Culpeper Minute Battalion, formed in 1775,
the best organized and most famous of the 16 Virginia minute battalions. Four of its
ten companies were from Fauquier county. It engaged the British at Hampton,
Great Bridge, and Norfolk. The victory at Great Bridge effectively forced the British
out of Virginia until 1781, enabling Virginia to contribute to the war effort in both the

7th Annual Lucky Shamrock 5K Run

A great way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and the arrival of spring! There are eleven divisions in both male and female age categories. Awards will be presented to all
1st, 2nd and 3rd place division winners.
Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a special event t-shirt on race day. T-shirts
purchased on race day will be available for pick-up two weeks following the event or
can be mailed for an additional fee. Please indicate t-shirt size on registration form.
Refreshments will be available beginning at 9am.
Pre-registration fee: $20; Race day registration fee: $25
