Historic

During the Civil War, Fauquier County changed hands numerous times, and the Warrenton Cemetery is the resting place of over 650 Civil War soldiers, many of whom were killed at the Second Battle of Manassas. The Fauquier History Museum at the Old Jail, located in the Town of Warrenton, features exhibits that tell the history of Fauquier County housed in a 200 year old jail.
